Finland vs. Indonesia education system

Did you know that a country that has the best education system in the world is not big countries and super power like the United States, Russia, or Japan. But Finland. Yep, the country that is geographically located in the northern hemisphere is bestowed with the title as the country with the best education system in the world. There are several things that distinguish the education system in Finland from the education system used by Indonesia, including:

1. Differences In Learning Hours
Did you know that for every 45 minutes students in Finland study, they are entitled to a 15-minute break? Finnish people believe that the best ability of students to absorb new knowledge taught will come, if they have the opportunity to rest the brain and build a new focus. They also become more productive in the learning hours because they understand that they will soon be able to play again.
In addition to increasing the focus skills above, having a longer break at school also actually has health benefits. They become more active in moving and playing, not just sitting in class. It's good if you don't get kids from small to sit too much.
however, unlike the education system in Indonesia. The education system in Indonesia implements full day school Fullday, namely by adding learning hours provided by students around 7 am to 4 pm, and usually students are only given 2 times rest with a duration of about 30 minutes each. This full day school certainly causes a lot of pros and cons from various parties, but the full day scholl is expected so that students do not waste their time in vain and do things that are distorted outside of school activities.

2. National Examinations
There is no national examination in Finland because every teacher in Finland really understands the potential of their students so that the teachers are tasked with evaluating their students. Unlike in Indonesia, the national exam determines the intelligence of children, and if the child can complete the national exam and get the highest score then he can choose the continuation of the school they want or they can enter a favorite school in Indonesia.

3. Ranking System
Government efforts to improve the quality of schools and teachers uniformly in Finland ultimately led to the hope that all students in Finland could be smart. Without exception. Therefore, they do not trust the ranking or competition system which in the end will only produce 'a number of smart students' and 'a number of stupid students'. This system is of course the opposite of the system in Indonesia that applies the ranking for each student, there is even the title 'golden child' who is considered smart in all subjects and usually in the teacher's love. Of course this has a bad impact on children who are considered less intelligent.

That is the difference in the education system in Finland and in Indonesia, hopefully the Indonesian education system will be even better. Thank you for reading this article, hopefully you can add insight. Don't forget to leave a constructive comment
